There is so much hate going around nowadays. Elon from Tesla has gotten his share of the hate. For me, I don’t care anymore about all this hate and about politics. Before 2015 I used to be quite active but not vocal about politics. I was fed up with all the money wasted by the government on programs and projects that really didn’t do anything to help. It was a whole waste of taxpayers’ funds.
2025 and I love that I decided to leave politics alone. Who cares really. My life is so much easier and happy now.
You are wondering what is the Chief talking about here. Where is he going with this? Ok, I will get to the point.
Republicans and Democrats make money either way
Many years ago, I had a good friend give me a great advice. My friend is in heaven now (he was a bit older) but I am so thankful for his advice. He had a pretty nice net worth. He owned investment properties, businesses and stocks. He would have a high tax liability every year. He was in the highest tax bracket. What was interesting about him is that he never complained about paying taxes. Of course, he used all the tax strategies to lower his tax liability, but it will still a big check.
I, at that time, would complain about paying taxes and so much wasted money that they government received and they just wasted it. Gave it away.
He was all cool about it.
One day I asked him. Why is it that you don’t mind paying taxes knowing that is a waste.
This is what he told me:
“Chief the way I see taxes is very different than the way you and others see taxes. For me, the more I have to pay in taxes it means that I am doing something right. It means I am making more money and I am increasing my net worth.”
His words back then did not change my outlook on taxes. But every year when I had to pay taxes I would always remember what he said.
Then I thought to myself. My friend is right. I should stop worrying about taxes and politics. I should see taxes as an indicator of my success.
Sure enough, I started looking at taxes differently. And sure enough, I saw my net worth and my income go up significantly.
Now, I don’t care about politics. I don’t care about taxes. I don’t care about Republicans or Democrats. I care about my net worth.
You see, no matter who is at the White House or in Congress, taxes will always be there and politicians will always spend their whole day arguing and not agreeing. Meanwhile, those who can care less about politics are making a ton of money.
Opportunies are always there
Regardless of which party is in power, look for ways to make money. If the Democrats want to push green and save the environment, then invest in companies that promote this. If Republicans don’t care about how much we burn fossil fuels, then invest in drilling or companies that push for this.
Teslas
This is how I was able to buy not one but two Teslas. I invested in a company that provides electricity for cryptocurrency mining. And no, I don’t invest in cryptocurrencies. I bought this share when nobody wanted it when people were scared. I bought a bunch of shares at $8 later in the year at $12. That bad boy when up to $52 a share. I said this is my time to get out. I sold all the stocks. I paid the Teslas with all the money I made from this stock.
I had to pay short-term capital gains which you know it is high. But like my friend said, look at taxes as an indicator of your success.
Now I never look back. I don’t care if the government wastes money. I will make money either way. This is how the billionaires do it. Look at Elon Musk from Tesla. Look at Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook. Look at Jeff Bezos from Amazon.
These people don’t care and, except Elon, don’t get involve in politics. They just invest and make money no matter who is in charge of our country.
Yes, they do have CPAs and tax experts to help them lower their taxes but overall, they pay their share, or their children will pay the tax liability later when they leave their legacy.
So, the next time you have to pay taxes, think of my friend. Don’t look it as a burden. Look at it as an indicator of your success. Go and make more money. Look at opportunities and don’t waste your energy on politics and trying to save the world.
