Ahh. The rich. They are a funny bunch in our society. However, they sure do know how to increase the probability of success for their children. Private school is one way they get the upper hand and an advantage compared to the rest of us.

I have written in the past and, if you read my other posts, the rich are no different than the rest of us, you and me. They are no more intelligent and no more gifted.

All they do is increase the probabilities of success for themselves and their children. Private school is one way to get the upper hand.

I made the jump

During the Covid years, we had our two kids in public schools in Montgomery County, Maryland. Montgomery County, or MoCo, as is known here, is supposed to have some of the best schools in our country. I would agree and disagree. I discussed the idea of sending our kids to private school with my wife. The distance learning, virtual whatever you want to call it, was a joke. Our kids were really not learning anything. The teachers loved the virtual class concept. I can understand why. They were getting paid the same salary and did perhaps 50% of the work required. Covid was good to many but not four our American children for sure.

Cost of private school is not cheap. I have seen some private schools that cost as much as $40,000 a year per student. I am talking elementary schools now. I was not going to spend that much money for just one child.

Catholic Private School

We are Catholics and if we were going to send our kids to private school that was a non-negotiable. This is the second year our kids are in private school and we love it. Worth it 100%

We have seen a 180 degree change in our kids.

Manners

The are very polite and respectful of others. We usually go out to a formal restaurant dinner once a week as a family. At the table they are well behaved and very respectful to the employees. They do not interrupt when a person is speaking and they have become great listeners. You can see their little brain analyzing when someone is talking to them. Also, they are more thoughtful and cautious when they say something or reply.

Teachers – Public vs Private

Before, in public school we felt like the teachers really did not care about the kids educational development. They were there just to get a paycheck and were more scared to discipline a child because that would mean losing their jobs.

Private school teachers are on a whole different level. They are fully committed to the kids development. One of my kids teachers would read editorial/opinions of current political issues. My son would come home talking about President Donald Trump and now President Joe Biden. The beauty in the way the teacher brought contemporary political issues was quite impartial and did not go into who was right and who was wrong. The teacher made them think and analyze their position. You will never see that in public schools. The teachers are afraid to talk anything religion or politics.

Education Level

One afternoon my kids were doing their homework. I checked the books they were using. They were using books that were one grade higher. Math and English grammar books. I just thought to myself, the world is unfair. Kids in public schools are way, way behind the 8 ball.

You see, I write this blog not to look down at the rest of society. I write this blog to make you aware of what is available to you (to everybody) if you are able to get out of the poor mentality and use the tools available in the economy so you too can offer the best for your children and yourself. The fact that you are visiting my blog website tells me you want to improve your lifestyle.

Back to private schools

What is interesting about private school is that many of the parents have share the same goals and want their kids to excel and have the advantage. We have made many new friends at the school, and they have embraced us. I do not know if this is only because it is a Catholic school. I cannot speak for other private schools.

Country Clubs

Most of the parents belong to some country club. We are not there just yet. I am on a waiting list for country club that has golf, tennis, etc. So soon I will join that circle and yes, I will write a blog about life there.

Save, invest and repeat. This is the only way you will get out of the ordinary lifestyle you have right now. Anyone can make it. All you need is discipline and do not waste your money on things that bring you no return on investment. And soon you too will enjoy the fruits of giving your kids the upper hand in society so they are successful in life. In our case, successful goes hand in hand with faith in Jesus our Lord. Without the Holy Spirit, nothing is possible. Never forget this.

That is all for now. Quick post on private school. I guess I am a bit biased on private school because I attended private school a couple of years in elementary school. But then it was public.

Regards,

The Economy Chief.
