Let me begin by saying that, yes I have not written anything in the last two weeks. Thanks to all who have been visiting the site to see if I have any new material. This presidential election in our country has been a mess. It has somewhat put me down and hence, my laziness, if I can call it that, in having any interest in writing anything related to finance.

Will President Donald J. Trump leave the White House. It looks like he does not want to let go. I wonder why? Perhaps there are to many interest or perhaps that cow has much milk left in it to let go of it. I don’t know what to believe anymore. If you spend time in social media platforms like Facebook, you get lost there. So much junk and fake news, who knows what to believe.

Best we focus on what is important right? Making money and saving money. That is what is all about. Let them politicians fight it out.

On a separate note. Thank you all for signing up for the newsletter. I know, I know. You have not received one newsletter since you signed up. Well the reason you are not getting any newsletters is because I have not sent any. There are many of you who have signed up but you have failed to confirm you want to sign up with the second email.

I added this feature because I don’t want people just typing and signing up and then it is someone who does not want to get a newsletter. Security and protecting your email.

On a personal note. My two kids are taking a break from horseback riding this winter. Who wants to be out there in the cold riding a horse. Maryland can get a bit chilly. Heck, this morning it was around 32 degrees and windy. Yes, that is cold.

They left horseback riding but they picked up another sports activity that is equality expensive. Golf.

I often take my net and place it out in the backyard of our home. They see me hitting the balls. My son is really good. He was using my club to chip and while the poor kid could barely hold the club he was able to make some good contact. Even better than me.

So, I bought them both a club set. Nothing expensive. Below $200. I am not buying them the fancy Taylor Made or any of that expensive equipment. Just some clubs so they can hit the balls. I even took them to the range the other day. They had a blast.

My son was asking me who is the best golf player out there. Of course, DJ, Dustin Johnson from South Carolina. The Masters at Augusta. This guy is quite gifted. Who knows maybe my son will be the next Dustin Johnson. Tiger Woods should retire. He is just embarrassing himself out there.

Finance

Well I am leaning toward refinancing my primary home. Interest rates are so low. You can get a 15 year loan for 2.25%. I have never seen these rates this low. Thank you Donald Trump or perhaps, Covid-19.

The Federal Reserve is just giving money away in the hopes of getting people to spend and buy, buy. No problem for me. I am not buying anything. I am replacing my old high interest rate with a low interest rate. Makes no sense in putting that money in a Certificate of Deposit or buying a government bond. The rates are so low that you basically lose purchasing power.

The stock market is something else. This week, in fact right after the election, the stock market has been going up. I was not sure what it was going to do. With Joe Biden talking about raising taxes and shutting down the economy by closing businesses. But I guess the vaccine news, now at 95% effectiveness, has given the stock market a reason to go bull.

I lost the opportunity to make $8,000 in profit in five days because I am a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on a stock market. With the second wave coming, who knows what is to come.

Either way, I am sitting in a large cash position because, remember, the housing bubble will burst in 2021. Then I will go shopping. Perhaps it may happen in second or third quarter.

Please sing up for my newsletter. Also, tell your friends about my blog website. I am averaging about 60 visitors a day. I want to bring this number up to 100 by the end of the year. Make it happen. Don’t be selfish and not tell others about how to make money and get to financial independence sooner.

Until next time.
